Janet Guenther A.K.A. Jayce started writing electronic music in early highschool with her younger brother using sharewhere programs and any 8bit sample packs they could find and download off the internet. In the mid 90’s she became a Deep House/Downtempo DJ in the DC/Baltimore area under the name InterPlanet Janet. When she moved to Boulder in September of 2001, she set the turntables aside and was introduced to the thriving live music scene, focusing mainly on singing with many bands including MoFro, The Motet, Jans Ingber, GSP, Jyemo, Iya Ami, 8traC, Jus Goodie, Alidu, Selasie and others. She also immersed herself in studying traditional African and Afro-Cuban drumming, dancing and song. After seven years in the live music scene, Jayce has re-embraced her electronic roots and integrated her voice and traditional rhythm studies into her new solo electronic project. She recently licenced a track to Big Up Productions to be used in their DOSAGE film
series and is DJing the Climbing World Cup in June 2008. Sweet and sultry at times, thick and sticky at others, this sister’s new sound is getting noticed!
